Assistant Accounting Services Manager

Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of Revenue Accounting

  • Understand the IATA resolutions, interline billing rules and standards as well as the new initiatives of the industry
  • Ensure all accounting matters related to the team are performed properly
  • Provide analytics to the relevant parties regularly
  • Work closely with Revenue Management, IT and the extended Passenger Revenue Accounting Team remotely in GGT to ensure the company is compliant with the industry standards
  • Partner with Commercial Team, including Revenue Management - Alliance Team
  • Support manager and team members to contribute in lean improvement activities
Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure all interline billings/rejections/proration are processed in compliance of the IATA rules and regulations

  2. Monitor the ICH outstanding balances and ensure all relevant parties take appropriate action to those carriers who are unable to settle the balances on time

  3. Ensure the R&R, eSAL, ticket proration in compliance of the oneworld standard and requirement

  4. Participate in oneworld audits

  5. Monitor and review the existing JBA performance. Participate in evaluation of new JBA model

  6. Monitor the activities including account reconciliation, prorate calculation, settlement which related to FFP tickets. Communicate with AML / REV Alliance Team when discrepancies are found

  7. Review the agreements related to any JBA, SPA, code-share, FFP, etc and provide comments

  8. Follow up any queries about interline billings, oneworld billings, FFP, JBA, code-share process, etc

  9. Participate to the projects which is relevant to the above mentioned tasks e.g. oneworld, RISE, etc

  10. Attend JBA and IATA meetings and discussions

  11. Staff development and ensure team members are equipped with sufficient knowledge and technique to handle the routine tasks. Support the team members to meet the goals

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting
  • Qualified accountant is preferred
  • Excellence knowledge about ticketing, fare construction, proration and interline billing rules and regulations, IATA Resolutions, etc
  • 10 years’ revenue accounting of an airline and minimum 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally communicate in a multicultural environment
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Fluency in Mandarin is advantageous
  • Sound analytical, problem solving and leadership skills
  • Able to work both independently as well as being an effective team player
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
  • Experience in using SAP is advantageous
  • Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
