An exciting opportunity now exists within our Aircraft Engineering team to take a leading role as Aircraft Engineer, handling our London Heathrow Engineering operations and third party contracts.
The successful candidate will assume daily responsibility of up to 73 weekly flights whilst providing leadership to a team of 12 CAT A Technicians and Mechanics. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and maintaining the high level of safety, reliability, security and presentation required by customers, regulatory authorities and the Company in a cost-effective manner.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
In this role you will have supervision of the station Engineering team on shift as well as directly oversee and certify the maintenance of Cathay Pacific’s aircraft as rostered. You will be responsible for allocating daily duties to the Mechanics and Technicians, monitoring ground safety during aircraft servicing and maintenance, ensuring all employees operating around the aircraft adhere to general ramp safety practices.
You will be a confident mentor to your direct reports leading, supporting and encouraging your team to achieve success by providing assistance, understanding and problem solving to the team. Demonstrating strong leadership and leading by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values, you will conduct regular performance reviews, identifying learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development is offered.
Working in a dynamic and multifaceted environment, you will be an effective communicator, liaising and maintaining strong relationships with the airport authorities, airport subcontractors, Cargo and other CX airport departments to ensure maximum aircraft handling efficiency. You will ensure all station technical publications are compliant, maintained and up to date.
