Accounting Supervisor - Commercial

Reports to: Assistant Accounting Services Manager

This role will serve as a key member of the accounting services team assisting the Accounting Services Manager in liaising with the business unit on all finance related matters and providing financial analysis and ad hoc support to Sales & Distribution (S&D) in the Commercial team. This role contributes to the financial planning and analysis as well as functional finance business partnering functionalities.

Key responsibilities:

Month End Closing and Reporting

  • Ensure accurate month end closing for operational costs under S&D in the Commercial team (e.g. accounting treatment, review anomalies, prepare accruals, follow up monthly control and reports generation)
  • Analyse monthly operating results for management review
  • Prepare monthly reports (e.g. MRP, level 2 reports, Balance Sheet Review Pack, etc.)
  • Provide support to Accounting Services Manager (ASM) and Business Units (BU) in relation to cost monitoring and process improvement in relation to financial related matters

Day to Day Financial related matters, including

  • Ensure proper accounting treatment in SAP and bring to attention any issues
  • Liaise with relevant parties with regards to financial issues raised by BUs
  • Ad hoc assignments as and when required (eg. Handling of bank guarantee)


  • Capture assumptions from line departments and coordinate with the submission budget/forecast
  • Provide analysis against comparatives
  • Prepare budget/forecasts templates
  • Upload figures in BPC and ensure accuracy


  • Prepare relevant schedules for interim/annual closing in accordance with Hong Kong Accounting Standards and other statutory requirements, and explain significant variance


  • Higher diploma or above in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with minimum 4 years relevant experience
  • Well organized with strong analytical mind
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
  • Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
  • A quick learner with the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and attentive to details
  • Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
  • Experience in using SAP advantageous
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese
