Accounting Supervisor

Role Introduction

Reports to:  Accounting Services Manager

 

Candidate will serve as a key member of the accounting services team assisting the Accounting Services Manager in liaising with the business unit on all finance related matters and providing financial analysis and ad hoc support to ASD.  This role contributes to the financial planning and analysis as well as functional finance business partnering functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

Month End Closing and Reporting

  • Ensure accurate month end closing for operational costs under BUs (e.g. accounting treatment, review anomalies, follow up monthly control and reports generation)
  • Analyse monthly operating results for management review/ Major variances for RCR
  • Upload of statistic to SAP
  • Provide statistics to BUs and outports for service acceptance
  • Prepare monthly reports (e.g. MRP, Balance Sheet Review Pack, Monthly Presentation Deck, etc.)
  • Provide support to ASM and BUs in relation to cost monitoring and process improvement in relation to financial related matters

Day to Day Financial related matters, including

  • Ensure proper accounting treatment in SAP and bring to attention any issues
  • AP processing for IATA invoices including invoice dispute handling
  • AP processing for non-IATA invoices (ensure goods receipt is done, submit invoice details to the Global Business Service team (“GBS”) for data input, invoice checking and handling enquiries from BUs / vendors)
  • Liaise with BUs and GBS to issue debit notes, bank reconciliation and follow up rejection from counterpart
  • Liaise with relevant parties with regards to financial issues raised by BUs
  • Follow up control reports
  • Ad hoc assignments as and when required (eg. Handling of bank guarantee)

Budget/Forecasts

  • Capture assumptions from BUs
  • Work out the budget figures based on assumptions from BUs and the business operating plan
  • Coordinate and supervise the budgets submission from BUs/outports
  • Provide analysis against comparatives
  • Prepare budget/forecasts templates
  • Upload budget figures to system and ensure accuracy

Annual/Interim

  • Prepare relevant schedules and explain significant variances
Requirements

Qualifications / Experience

  • HKCEE standard with a pass in English (Syll B) or grade 2 in English
  • Higher diploma or above in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience of which 3 year is in supervisory role
  • Well organized with strong analytical mind
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
  • Experience in using SAP advantageous
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese
  • Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
