Role Introduction

Reports to: Financial Reporting Manager
Employment Condition: Full-time permanent; Job share / part time will also be considered
The Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role in the Cathay Group Financial Reporting Team in the provision of summary & detailed financial analysis, and insightful statutory and management reporting for Shareholders & Directors.
Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate production of monthly management reports including consolidating data from various sources for meaningful variance and other analysis 
  • Support in the production of interim and annual group and entity level financial statements and accounting schedules
  • Assist in addressing queries from auditors
  • Determine appropriate accounting treatment and internal policy for transactions in accordance with accounting standards and management reporting needs
  • Work collaboratively with wider FIN team members in aligning information for consistent external and internal reporting of company and group reports
  • Lead the execution of monthly system closing 
  • Prepare, develop and refine cash flow analysis to meet organizational needs
  • Handle monthly intercompany reconciliations and variance investigations
  • Oversee fixed asset transactions
  • Handle full set of accounts of investment holding subsidiaries
  • Coach, guide and review work of team members
  • Perform ad hoc assignments as and when required

Qualifications / Experience

  • A degree holder in Accounting or related disciplines with a professional designation in Accountancy
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience of which 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
  • Audit experience with recognized audit firms a definite plus
  • Strong analytical mind and interpersonal skills
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
  • Experience in using SAP advantageous
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese/Chinese
  • Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
