Role Introduction

Reports to:  Assistant Manager - Cargo Manager On-Duty

The team at Cargo Service Delivery manage our global cargo services. This includes managing operations and processes and following all local regulations. Our role is to maintain the Cathay Cargo customers’ experience by ensuring their shipments can reach the destination without deviation.
As the Cargo Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring efficient performance of Cargo Officers, maintain communication with subordinates and Cargo Management, and liaise with service providers for smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure to sufficient resource for daily operations, distribute tasks evenly and adjust as needed
  • Maintain the office appliances and equipment are always in good order
  • Ensure punctuality, adherence to grooming standards, and provide fair assessments with concrete feedback for Service Leaders and Cargo Officers
  • Supervise flight operations to meet company rules and achieve On-Time Performance (OTP)
  • Stay knowledgeable about handling procedures including but not limited to hazardous materials, electricity stoppage, bomb threat etc
  • Report issues, propose solutions, and handle irregularities
  • Monitor service providers’ performance and maintain effective communication for efficient operations
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct investigations and submit reports promptly
  • Assist the Cargo Duty Officer by preparing reports and handling shipment care duties for the Operational Control

Requirements

  • Right to work in Hong Kong
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Tertiary education or equivalent experiences
  • Minimum 3 years’ airline experience in cargo operations. Freighter load control and freighter ramp/loading operations experience would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of cargo operations including freighter.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.
  • A self-motivated leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to interact with people at all levels and from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Sound PC knowledge in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Independent & detailed oriented.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English. Spoken and written Chinese is preferred.
